About the festival

We célèbrons the richness of the african culture and the cultural diversity of the county of SDG (Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry), as well as surrounding communities.

More than just a festival, this festive gathering is meant to be a true bridge between cultures, promoting dialogue, discovery and sharing of the cultural heritage here and elsewhere. Through a program, a range of artistic work – music, dance, gastronomy, visual arts and crafts – the festival offers an exceptional showcase to highlight the talents of local, national and international.

At the heart of our mission is the desire to create a platform for international cultural exchanges, promoting mutual understanding, diversity and inclusion. Each edition of the festival becomes a unique opportunity for communities to come together, build relationships and celebrate all the cultural riches that make the beauty and the uniqueness of our region.

The festival will take place in the enchanting setting of the esplanade of the Lamoureux park, in the heart of the city of Cornwall, Ontario. This iconic place, bordered by the majestic St. Lawrence river, it offers a natural setting of exceptional invites festival-goers to live an immersive experience in a festive atmosphere, warm and friendly.

Whether you are a lover of music, passionate about culinary discoveries, or simply curious to meet other cultures, the Festival Afro and Diversity International Cornwall SDG opens its doors to you for a celebration of the vibrant diversity is the most beautiful of wealth.

Celebrate diversity in culture and the arts, while promoting social inclusion

Create a multicultural space of artistic expression where the music, food, film and the arts meet to celebrate the diversity. Promote intercultural exchange by establishing collaborations with local and international organizations, while promoting the official languages and la Francophonie through activities that are fun and inclusive.

Our ambitions

Promote synergies between communities to contribute to the richness of the diversity of the city of Cornwall, Ontario

Put in place a multilateral space and multicultural annual meetings for the populations of Cornwall, neighbouring towns and various actors of the French-speaking world.
Attract tourism to the city of Cornwall SDG during the period of the festival.
